Features
Databais is a non-intrusive software component which is very easy to plug into existing land-based AIS systems; e.g. in control centres.
Databais works with renowned databases such as Oracle 9i and Postgres and their spatial extensions (Oracle Spatial Extension and PostGIS respectively).. Databais listens to AIS traffic on the network or other lines of communication; and stores messages with timestamps in the database. For sites with large amounts of traffic, Databais implements a pruning mechanism, which can reduce the amount of data in the database without loosing important information. Databais is designed for extreme performance and works with message loads of hundreds of AIS messages per second. |
